Neon Tetra problem

so i get home from school today and everything was fine feed them a little bit less today... and guess what came back 20 min later and the neon tetras were fat in the stumic "again"

did u do the wc? im thinking its stress from ammonia...

ps check out my new thread...the ammonia from the pet store that my betta came in was like rediculus idk how he was alive!!

okay so i did a 5 gallon WC and it turns out they still get fat even if i feeed them very little? any ideas?

just for that one tank if thats the only tank they are getting fat when you feed them in, i would feed them every other day and see what that does.

fish can go every other day without eating its fine IMO just try that

in a nutshell I don't mean to sound terribly slow but how does cycling work? Theres no such thing as leaving the water just sit in the tank for the ammonia and nitrate levels to regulate, right? I'm confused.
