I wouldn't recommend a water change yet.. let the "through the roof" aspects of the water take their course and feed bacteria so it can multiply and be able to process all that nasty in the water. If you do a water change now you will be removing some of the "food" for the bacteria to be able to multiply (probably wouldn't cause any real harm doing a water change but I just think you would be wasting $ and water doing so right now). Just sit back, relax for a few weeks, and let the tank do its thing all on its own. It is the first and probably the hardest lesson to learn in saltwater... patience.Hey guys, ran some tests today, and all three of my N levels are through the roof. I expected to slowly get this but not at the same time, and not in 1 day of adding an ammonia source (small piece of fish fillet). Is this normal for saltwater? Im going to do a water change today. But I was surprised by my readings, I compared them to pre mixed saltwater and the readings are correct.
