I accidentally posted this in the FW section so I'm gonna copy/paste it here. It's a little vague but I was hoping for some specific pieces of equipment as suggestions because I'm worried if I shop too hard for a deal I'll buy crap equipment

So I'm currently working out a trade for a 135g tank (he said it was 145 but his measurements gave me 135 on a tank calc so keep this in mind) and I might be jumping the gun but this guy seems like we have pretty much made a solid done deal.

My current setup is a 50g so I'm a bit out of my league with the size of this new tank. I'm looking for suggestions on specific pieces of equipment I would need. This is probably going to be a salt tank also

-A good wet/dry with sump (Or whatever you would suggest for a salt tank. If I need a refugium or what have you)
- what sort of lighting for keeping corals if I decide to (keep tops in mind too as I don't think this tank has any tops. I'm down with some cool glass tops to go with the lights unless you think all I need are your basic flip top glass) also I have no idea what I'm reading when people say halide and give weird numbers and stuff. Also it would be cool to have a day and night cycle.
- protein skimmer
-UV seterilizer
-any other special items I would need for salt water (not counting rock and sand or anything alive as it will take me a long time to accrue all this stuff)

While I know I can go through catalogs and find stuff I find that a lot of things over rate their filters for larger tanks than they can handle and other such things so I'm hoping anyone with a tank around this size or knowledge in this area can suggest specifics. I don't want the most expensive thing obviously but I do want quality if I am going to invest in this project.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Enjoy some cookies why we read up on your new tank...

You get the milk once the pics are uploaded of this puppy up and running!

I actually lol'd. Today is a good day. I am so excited. This may be months down the road but hopefully sooner. Thanks for any input on my cart XD

OMW to get it now. Will have pics in a few hours

Sounds good. We'll hold off on the shopping list until we see what comes with the tank. You can go ahead and add some 36" T5 bulbs to your list though because I'm about due for some new ones ;).

Well that's awesome actually. I'd love to get a lot of my stuff from people on here. Would save me money and help out fellow fish enthusiasts. I'm gonna be home and upload pics in probably about 20 mins. Definitely get in touch with me about the lights and what light level they are and all that

As promised. Pics. Measurements are 72.5 long, 18.5 wide, and 24 high

I hope the pics came through with full dimensions. This is the first time I'm uploading pics through the forum app. The stand is obviously much bigger but I can't get far enough away to get all of it in because of where it is. The stand and trim will be painted black (because it goes with my entertainment center and looks great on a salt tank)

And don't worry. I had all my weight on the foot that was outside the tank lol

The gallon rating I got on a tank calc was 139.35 so I'm guessing 135g is what the tank is

And yeah it was just the tank and stand. It was the only person I could find willing to trade so I jumped on it. So after tank and stand we are building from the ground up

Also this tank has some light scratching in it. Please tell me there is a way to repair that to at least make it unnoticeable when it is filled? The scratching is inside so it would have to be inert when cured if that matters

Sorry but once glass is scratched its pretty much there. Fill it up with a hose and make sure it hold water.

Is that a ND hat?

Sure is. And yes it does hold water but I got a free tube of waterproof silicone with it so I will be checking the seals and filling it to max with nothing else in and leaving it probably for at least a month to test it.
