i guessed at what filter you had, you can play with the settings to get it right. This sight is a good starting point.

If I could get another tank...I would probably do a sev or convict with tiger barbs, honestly. A single cichlid though, not two, certainly not more. 2 males in anything smaller than a 55g are gonna have some serious territory issues. My advice/suggestion is 6 barbs and one convict as the centerpiece. Cheers!

Oops! Didn't see your aqadvisor post lol. If you've got the filtration go for 9 definitely. Blue and green look dope with a plain colored tank and black background.

Btw..... my filter is aqueon aquarium power filter 30 and I just ordered a 9 watt uv sterilizer, I think that will do?

Convict=angry. Tiger barbs=food to convict. Problem solved.

I would just have one convict in there. Or something other than convicts and tiger barbs. There's tons and tons of stuff that could go in there.

well the other day i bought 10 convicts.... they arent too active, hopefully they adjust in a few days.

Well I asked the guy for 9 and he gave me 10, I realised it later when I put em in the tank. They are babies I think they will be fine for a few days...... I wish i had someone to return them too, instead of giving them back to the store :thumbsdown:

well in my experience it's not horrible to slightly overstock when they are young because chances are a couple will die. This all depends on if you qt your new fish and which pet store you got them from.

I have 3 female cons and 11 tiger barbs. They were in a 40 and now they are in a 47. The cons have never been aggressive towards the barbs but they are aggressive towards each other from time to time. I would say you need more places for them to hide if anything.
