New 30gal setup

Grins....glad to see you baby back in your avatar. She always has a happy face.

I was looking for hitchikers and found a few worms and the Nessarius snail that I hadn't seen since putting him in the tank. He is the smallest snail I have ever seen and assumed he met a demise, but nope, he was happily eating away. The worms were long and kinda clear. Definitely not bristleworms. I also saw a lot of the little bugs and such. No sign of anything crawling from under the rock moving my sand, so that remains a mystery for now.

Sorry, no picture of me wearing the headband because I was just holding it in my hand...besides, nobody wants to see this mug. LOL

You are very welcome.

I don't have any new pics right now as there isn't anything new happening in the tank. I have had some more algae die-off so that is a good thing. My number continue to remain stable and there has been no change in the numbers in 2 weeks.

I think my next step is a fish. :-) WOOHOO!!! I'm thinking a nice goby, but I'm gonna have to get something to keep him from jumping out. I guess it is time to shop for egg crate.

I have been looking at Gobys and there is one called a Dragon Goby that looks cool. He is silver and brown and has a spot on his tail. My concern is that it says they eat small bottom-dwelling inverts. Does that mean my snails could be at risk?

Yes! That is what I have. Amblhygobius phalaena. Also called a banded goby. I've not seen mine go after inverts at all. He stirs up the top layer of sand, expect him to move it in small piles. Which I merrily knock down once or twice a week just so he have something to keep him busy. When he was still in the display he claimed the primo rock as his own and had at least 4 cave openings to it. Loads of personality, doesn't hide a ton and when he is in his cave he tends to sit at the opening so you can still see him. He eats ANYTHING and isn't shy even when the dogs are licking the glass at him. His coloring got even prettier after he was in the tank a few days. Lots of aqua blue marks as well.
