New 30gal setup

I paid $40 for my #2. I was shocked to see them. Actually Alan saw them sitting on a shelf. We weren't even looking for them.

The store name is Advanced Aquatics. Keep in mind that he isn't associated with RASOC and I got the feeling that there may be some sore spots there so you might not bring that up. :-)

I purchased a Koralia #2 and I'm using it with my two larger powerheads. I have lots of movement in my tank now and the clown is loving it. He acts like he is having a ball playing in the flows. The goby is moving sand all over the tank.

Grins, I bought the Koralia at a store in Belmont. I can't remember the name right now, but it was near the Abbey. I think I bought the last #2 they had, but they had a couple 3s and at least one #4. He is only open Wed-Sat.

I still haven't gotten the skimmer to work. I think I might be missing a part and I have emailed the guy to see if he can help me. So no good news on that yet.

Here is a video my partner made of the tank. Enjoy. You'll notice that most of the hair algae is gone and there is minimal regrowth. My latest Nitrate test came back at 10. WOOHOO!!

Yes, even with some of the insane turnover that some add to their tanks we still don't even come close to the currents in the ocean.

edit to add: seahorses would be an exception.

I agree Grins. It is so funny to watch the Clown swim in the current. He fight it for a while then he dives and lets teh current push him around some. so far he is surveying the entire tank and hasn't found a favorite spot yet.

What I love about the Koralia is the broad flow it creates. It was immediately noticeable! I also have some spots now that have slower flow, but no dead areas. I should be able to keep any coral happy. :-)

Tonight my new fish received their names. The clown is called Squirt and the Dragon Goby is named Falcor after the dragon in Neverending Story. I just can't help myself. I think all pets need names. However, that does not apply to snails. LOL

On another note, my goby has made a total mess of my tank. The water is constantly cloudy from his digging. He has created a sand pile that is almost six inches deep between two rocks....then he goes and hides in one of the rock caves and doesn't even use the hole he has dug. Go figure. I joke that he is creating a grave for the next snail that moves his sand around.

I got my K3 for my 70 gal (I got lucky and got one on ebay for 47, shipping included).. and wow what a difference. I had to move around rock, do all kinds of things as it started making a sand storm really bad.. A lot of rock near the edge of the glass started moving inland so to speak.. I think I should have gotten 2 #2's instead.
