New Cherry Shrimp farm

very nice. im about to start a rcs tank in my 10gal. hope it comes out as nice as yours.

Thanks! it took a few months for all the plants to grow in, and there is about 4 watts per gallon on each tank.. 6500k lighting

nice tanks. Are those blue/black shrimp in the first couple of photos?

Thanks! They are pearl blue neocaridinia

You just keep suprising me with these shrimp tanks man! Im so excited to make mine, cant wait for payday. I just started seeding the 10g with my backup AC so hopefully it wont take too long to cycle, if any.

what type of plant are the cherries hanging on in the pictures? I used to have whole bunch but I forgot the name...

PS: Nvm, i saw that you had answered like 10 times in this thread.

Well it's been bumped so how about an update? :) I want some yellow neos and pearl blues myself, just gotta find them. The tanks and shrimp look(ed) great!

How are those yellows breeding for you now?

the yellows are finally breeding, but I have had them for about 9 months and have lost several. they are much more difficult to keep than the cherry shrimp, despite whatever you will read online. My cherry shrimp are doing great, but the yellows have just started to reproduce.

The blues are hard to find also, and arent as colorful as you might think, they are more of a pale bluish milky white, and really arent very active.

I also have green Babaulti shrimp, which are doing great, a bit noctournal, and are the same color as the plants in my tank, so are difficult to see. they are doing pretty good as well.

I am getting ready to relocate all my tanks to another area of my house, so wehn I do, I'll get new Pix up for exeryone.

Woww, I just read from start to finish. Good job with your tanks! I'm setting up a 10 gallon RCS tank too and this thread has been so helpful :)

I was going to ask you about the yellows because they are giving me a fit. I have RCS and blue pearls and have absolutely no trouble with them. I have tried the yellows 3 times and they have all died each time. Completely frustrating. I've turned the 20 gallon long that I had for the yellows into a snail only tank.
