Nice fish. Not sure bout the cool down period. For once you got a fish I dont want to steal from ya lol. Geo's arent my thing. Closest Ide get to Geo's are the Acarichthys but even the ones I had have died off. They killed each other off. Last remaining one was killed off by some Freddy's who were smaller then it. I got no luck this year. All my fish are being overly tempermental.

Lost my male Jack Dempsey and a Rhino Pleco. Think the hose I used to fill the tank has something wrong with it. Did WC's with the faucet and a bucket with my smaller tanks with no problems. Used the hose for the 135 gallon and all the fish had a weird thing going on like the slime coat getting milky on all there fins. Was weird. Dont look forward to the next water change which is tomorrow.

Just do some more searching on them Mike and Im sure youll find out if they need that cool down period or not.

Thanks Gabe yeah i am sure someone will chime in on the cool down, sorry to hear all the bad luck i have had my share as well, i put a lot of fish out in the ponds but i was a week early and i thought all was going to be fine but we had a cold week in the beginning where the water got down to 50 and i lost my Plecos and some SA's but my CA's made it out ok and actually have grown a lot since May..

Yeah these Geo's are actually ugly but i hear they breed like rabbits, I will more than likely get rid of them just want the BAP for my fish club, I really want the Balzani Geo's the most..

Cool Geos! I've never kept any of these guys so I couldn't tell you about whether or not they need a cooling period.

These guys don't need a cool down period. Gorgeous Red Humps btw!

Oh and sorry my avatar isn't helping you want G. balzanii any less :silly:

Oh well then you probably saw some pics of me! I was the young guy on the last December collecting trip with Ken. He did go in March but he didn't collect any balzanii. If you can afford the trip it is totally worth it! I came back and filled up 5 or 6 tanks with new fish. Now I'm moving and oh man is it a pain in my butt!

Here are my 3 from the December trip! I did have 4 but I lost a female a couple of weeks ago to mysterious causes

Dam it sorry about the loss, yeah i actually remember him talking about you now he was using your name in the slides how cool, now are you the one that kept putting the fish in his pants LOL

Yeah he talked about the trip and how it is cheaper when he has a few people going to cut out on the cost of the trip, i would love to go maybe one of these days..

Haha!!! No I didn't have the balls to put a Hoplias down my pants, that was Pedro our driver. He is goofy guy always making everyone laugh. I was the young guy with shortish sandy brown hair. My name is Armand but Ken may have referred to me as California Boy.

If you ever get the chance you should go! It was one of the best trips I've ever been on and I'm already saving to try and go again in a year or two!
