new goldfish PLEASE READ i need help...

No his lake is not but the one on campus is and they have tons of goldfish and koi :) would that be ok? Or ... Should I just take him back? I just feel bad that he's a feeder

The betta idea is great when I get the supplies ... But its all about what I'm gonna do with him for now

I myself (i know it's not right) would sneak him in the one on the campus. Oh I know I'm going to hear about his! LOL

Good to hear! Try the classifieds here, craigslist (with caution), and even see if there is a local aquarium club nearby. There may be someone local in the hobby willing to take him off your hands and give him a good home :)

Yeah ... The internet on my phone is limited and slow though so I'll have to wait til monday when I go home ...

What does everyone think of creating a betta sorority... And what do I do if they begin to fight?

They will most likely fight at the very beginning when you add them all in together. The key is to give lots of places for the loser to hide until they establish their pecking order. Doing lots of water changes to keep the water clean and they will heal up amazingly fast once they stop fighting.

Be sure to pick up healthy active fish. Often getting a smaller females means younger and not aggressive yet.

I don't know of any resources but in my experiences with female bettas deep red coloration seems more aggressive better breeders but aggressive. The cambodian (white with colored fins) seems the least aggressive, but they are all bettas and can have attitudes.

I'm personally of the belief that a sorority should have more space than 10 gallons, but I suppose it is possible. Just add lots of cover and definitely add them all at the same time preferably from the same source too.
