Sorry but using Prime is not worth a stinky room to me... I use it, it reeks in the bottle but not in the tank. If Prime made my house stink I'd be done w/ it.
For the record, I have a fairly new bottle of Prime and when it's in the tank, it doesn't stink. lol

I have been using Prime for quite awhile, but a few days ago I ran out and bought a new bottle.
After doing some water changes I got a terrible smell in my house. I traced it back to the fish tank. After further research I found the Prime is incredibly foul smelling both in the tank and in the bottle.
As I said I have used it for quite awhile and I have never had this problem.
One thing to consider is how much Prime you use vs how much chlorine/chloramines are in the water. Many folks use a double dose when filling up their tank. There is not usually enough chlorine/chloramines to use up this much prime immediately.
Did anyone catch that thte poster has used Prime in the past and considered the smell abnormal?
Are you certain it's the Prime your smelling? If so, could some have been spilled, or perhaps could a container have a hole and be leaking it?
i know for a fact that the large bottles of prime are NOT engineered for side storage, and when it leaks, it reeks! Even more so when it starts drying.
