New project: Seagrass/Seahorse tank

where did you get the sea grass. its looking better
The turtle grass and manatee grass are from floridapets. The stargrass was from billsreef. Unfortunately, someone has developed a taste for stargrass, and it has all been eaten over the past week.

I added a rock with a few colonies of Cladocora (tube coral) last week, and a few gorgonian frags from the main tank.

A few shots closer in.

A shot from the left end. Makes it look pretty lush, huh?

The porcelain crabs seem to spend a lot more time sifting in this tank than they do in the reef. They are a different species, but maybe there are more goodies in the sand in this tank.

I love it. It looks super.

I've got a 12 w x 24 long by 20 high tank on order for delivery on Friday next at my LFS.
I can't find anyone who can get any type of grasses up here :( so I will settle for gorgonian, shrooms and some chaeto, and other macro algaes.
I also met a person here whom is starting a horse breeding program and will be recieving 24 pair of Brazilian erectus seahorses next week. They also have not been able to get seagrasses, but know someone who might be able to get some. So....being patient. :thud:

I go back and forth between erectus and reidi. This week I think I'm getting reidi. They have about the same maximum size, although erectus gets a bit bigger at close to 8".

I would like to do 2 pairs.

LOL nice avatar:)
How tall is your tank Dave?
I've got one on order, its a Hagen, 12 x 24 x 20H.
I'm wondering if I should continue looking...
I know I'll be able to get erectus, (8" tall ?!) but I like the look of Barbouri also..

The tank is 24" high, minus the 6" sandbed. The 20 tall you have on order should be fine.

Fishbase says erectus get to 19 cm, so it's not exactly 8". Plus, that's a maximum for the wild. The extra large broodstock I've seen for sale is 6".
