New record high price used aquarium

Not trying to be sarcastic because I know salt water requires more cash investment then fresh water. But does $6000 invested seem a little high for this picture, and doesn't that price seem really high for the used tank market even at 125 gallons?

Worth it, perhaps for someone else lol. I have another CL tank that has been on my mind for my possible intro into basic salt water. I am currently trying to negotiate more payed money for a possible delivery this weekend rather then a pickup. Just getting it off at my end would require some hoop jumping on my part since it obviously weighs so much. But I think this tank is a bargain and has good bones in both glass and wood work if cleaned up and refinished in a couple spots. If I do get this tank (God willing) Id be getting into SW on a shoestring budget, everything from free sand to free fish lol. Not because I cant afford it but because I don't want to get my feelings hurt if I crash the tank first time round with a bunch of expensive fish.
Good deal ya think? http://mohave.craigslist.org/for/1290150450.html

Yeah, that's what I mean, some people get the first deal they find, some bargain shop.

The second deal looks good, even with the needed clean up, especially if you've already got the tools on hand.

Good luck with it, and keeping the budget free :), post some updates. The only reason why I've brushed off the idea of going sw is the price off all the equipment.

If I do salt I have to start it out as a basic non living rock tank, just SW and the most hardy and inexpensive SW fish I can find or rescue. I want to learn from the bottom up. I don't want to over extend myself and get disappointed, and I want to see how cheap I can do SW using unconventional methods, equipment, and supplies avoiding retail at every possible juncture. I think if I approach it another way the cost will be too discouraging, and I think it would be fun to see how cheap I can run a SW tank successfully that looks rather good.

It's hard to tell with that crappy pic lol. looks like a 40 breeder in that pic!

SW just seems so intimidating but I really wanna do a SW nano someday.

I know the expense of S/W been there done that. I easily spent 6 to 10 grand from start to finish tanks, lighting ,pumps, sumps, calcium reactor, refuges, salt mix, corals, fish, critters, the list goes on and on, wave makers, RO systems, replacement membranes, filters, sand, dead rock, live rock, mangrove sumps, I could keep on going , chiller,PVC to run the chiller through the attic to the tank in the wall to the patio where the chiller was placed. Replacement halide bulbs, replacement PC bulbs, more and more stuff. It doesn't end.
I do fresh water ONLY now and that is still costing me more than I want to spend.

Good luck at keeping the cost down on a SW tank .

Sorry for the blurry pics but you can get an idea what it was.
