New Riparium in 56 Column

Thanks bigwave. He was skittish at first but now he's looking quite at home in there. I think that C. cutteri is one of the prettiest kinds of cichlids.

this is amazing, id LOVE a tank like this. very jealous.... whats a good sand to use for substrate? would u recommend these sands for most plants? or are your plants staying in the containers they were in?
 
Those plants are all planted in riparium planters in a clay gravel.

It's this stuff. It's like kitty litter.

Oh I haven't been back into this thread in a while. I cleaned up this tank tonight and got a quick picture...

I wish I could get the fish to swim out front. I still haven't tracked down those Congo tetras yet. The P. buffei were actually swimming around when I took this picture, but they move so fast my camera couldn't even see them at this slow shutter speed.
