New shots... SE Asian and African biotope tanks

Those are some good looking tanks! I was 100% sure on black substrate for my next tank but your white/black mix has got me thinking...

Thanks BoCo. The mix of the two really makes the tank pop. Offers a really interesting effect with the snowflake obsidian + holey rock. What kind of tank were you planning on?

I am thinking about 125 to 150 gal.

I am either going to do a large shoaling/schooling tank or a dutch aquascape.

Either way I really like the furniture look of your tanks and will be looking for a similar look.

I am also sold on the UV/CO2 loop. If I can keep my fish healthy and my water clear (not scrubbing algae) I am going to be a happy camper.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for following the thread and keep us updated with your bulid thread; sounds like a great tank project. As I've told cf, that furniture look is nice but it does come with some downsides. Fortunately, Coy is the Co2/UV loop expert now LOL...

Test Fire...

Before I spray the new 36 gallon bowfront, I'm doing a test spray on one of our spare 10 gallon tanks (actually the feeding tank for my wife's bearded dragon). I'll also be spraying the bearded dragon's 70 gallon tank using a stone effect Krylon. This is the spray shown below. The 36 gallon bowfront will be sprayed with Krylon fusion flat black.

So far so good...
