Hi All,
I am in the process of putting togther a new 125g Reef Tank.
I have kept a planted FW tank for around 3 or 4 years now, but this will be my first stab at SW.
I already have the tank (125g AGA with twin Megaflow overflows 72"x18"x22"dp) and I am in the process of building the stand. After that I will be buying everything in bits and pieces.
My main question is, take a look at the list of equipment below. Seem like a solid setup? Am I missing anything? I plan to set this up as a reef tank. I don't know exactly what all I am going to keep, but I don't want my equipment to cause a bunch of limitations on what I can keep. I am not looking for the best of the best of the best, but I do want solid equipment that will allow me to sucessfully keep almost anything.
Water Movement
Substrate
~200-250 lbs
~2" layer of fine sand topped by another 2" of 50/50 live sand and Aragonite
~175-250 lbs of Live rock
Plus a Typhoon III RO/DI unit from AirWaterIce for all of my water needs.
I am going to put all of the mechanicals together and see if I need a chiller before I go and buy one, but if I end up needing one I was looking at a Pacific Coast 1/6 HP Inline Chiller. I am hoping I won't need one. Tank will be on an interior wall and will not recieve any sunlight, temp in the apartment is 72F or below. Anyone with similar conditions have any input?
Wheeew...that was long. ...so in conclusion, poke holes in my plan if there are any. If not, feedback is welcome. :dive:
