I'd personally stop with any chemical adds aside from your dechlorinator. Tidals are nice filters. I've had a 110 running on my 75gal for years. I don't care for the look of it in the tank (pump/motor housing), but the thing works as well as a HOB can.

In terms of lighting, any of those LED flood lights could work, regardless of color/temp. Get what looks good for your setup.

good news, somewhat.

today I woke up to a clear water tank. 3 things could've possibly achieved this result:
1. 5 ml of clarity instead of 10 ml
2. having tidal 35
3. both of the above. I believe that clarity does help and the tidal 35 being a bigger filter than quietflow 10 helped with filtration.

How do you get plants to not rot/decay/melt when transferring them to a new tank?

Hello, I just started building my new tank today but I've come across something very bothersome: cloudy water.
I washed new gravel a lot before adding to the tank. Water was coming off clear after washing but now that I added water to the tank it is all cloudy/dusty. Now, I know that cloudy water is normal when setting up a new tank, but what worries me is that if this dust/cloud will harm my fish.

I got this gravel in a LFS and it was very dusty (will share a picture tomorrow).

I took some pictures from this new tank and the old tank using a flashlight.

I am using a filter with just floss media for now to help with the dust residue, will add carbon tomorrow.
Also before adding carbon I will do another total water change and maybe move the plants from the old tank to his new one or should I wait after cloudiness clears up?
I will post a picture of the new gravel (dry).
Suggestion on how to clean new gravel.

I clean my gravel by putting it in a bucket and running water in it until the water overflowing is clear

I need help with ammonia. I thought if I used same bio filter I'd not have to cycle but I am getting ammonia readings:

that is GU10 led bulb, 5W per bulb. It came with 3 bulbs but I only put 2 becuase 3 was too much.

I was thinking of getting blue neocaridina or the cherry shrimps but I fear my gouramis might prey on them because of how small they are, what are your thoughts?

I currently have 1 ramshorn snail and i do not want more of them becuase of how they proliferate

thoughts on this? I raised the lamp and removed one of the bulbs but I still see algae growth. I've had algae before but Excell took care of it, now it doesn't seem to do anything

How long do you keep the lights on? I will guess the yellowing leaves are just getting old. Snip them off. You have some healthy looking growth. I don't know your lighting, so I have no opinion on them.
