New to the fish world!

Hi,
I am quite new to the fish world, I had never known that there was so much involved in keeping a fish tank.
I have been reading the posts and everyone seems quite knowledgeable and most of all loves fish!
Today I plan on looking around to see what kind of tank I can fit into my room. (I have a small apartment room).

Umm... I'm a college student with a huge passion for animals.
My apartment doesn't allow dogs or cats so fish seem like a nice hobby to take up my free time.

I'm thinking a 5 or 6 gallon. I may possibly be able to fit a 10 gallon which I know is the recommended for beginners. My only problem is the place it would be resting on. Anyways I'll post my specific questions in the newbie forum.

Umm I guess I'll be seeing everyone around. :)

Wow that was fast! Hi! *waves* I am off to the store to check out tanks. (and procrastinate on my paper some more!)
 
I have 2 nice tanks

I have 2 tanks set up in my sewing room. One is set up with 2 regular oscars who now have grown quit big for their tank the tank is about 25 to 30 gallon so i am planing on moving them up to a 55 gallon tank. and thats as far as i will let them grow. Now my other tank is small about a 20 to 25 gallon and this tank hold 4 small gold fish, one african cichild,one ruby clown cichlid and one tank cleaner and now has one really sweet looking yellow lemon oscar. Now i know i've been told never put certain cichlids together with other fish or they will eat every thing in the tank, but so far everyone in the smaller tank are getting along just fine. But my other 2 very large oscars will remain by them selves in their tank, i have feed them live fish 2 times now but they eat pellets all the time, so my lemon cichlid will not be going into the other tank anytime soon. And yes it is the color of a lemon and so are the eyes and it is a very pretty fish......
 
Welcome to AC.

You may want to make a thread concerning stocking in the forums. There are a few things about your tanks, such as mixing goldfish with tropical fish-- that can be detrimental to the health of your fish, as well as the oscars only growing to the size of the 55 g you may want to address and get some adivise on how to keep your fish happy and healthy as they grow.. :)

Hi, welcome.
Go for the 10 gallon if you can - of course you can fit it in! (says the guy with five tanks in his bedroom, who is now dying in the hot weather because of the humidity!)
