I've been looking around on the internet at different freshwater forums and thought I would give this one a try. Looks like there is a lot of useful info on here and lots of friendly people too!

My husband and I just converted our 210 gallon saltwater tank to a freshwater set up. The tank has cycled, we've added a few live plants, (not enough in my opinion lol), a bunch of driftwood pieces and a few fish. (There is so much room in a 210, I feel like we'll never get it full!) We've never done a planted tank before, so we're pretty excited about the possibilities. I can't wait for it to look like a little underwater jungle!

If you have any suggestions on fish, plants, aquascaping......anything really, let us know. We are looking forward to hearing new ideas from all you.

Here is a link to some pics of the tank. Just click on "view slideshow". Keep in mind, the tank is very new and looking a little empty at the moment. http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLandingSignin.jsp?Uc=19lqan0e.cfn58my&Uy=-2405pw&Upost_signin=Slideshow.jsp%3Fmode%3Dfromshare&Ux=0&UV=610271539123_71638256314

Welcome to AC !!!!!

Nice setup.... I really like the old barn wood look surrounding the tank

Thank you! My husband worked his butt off on that. That's usually how it works though, I get an idea and he figures out how to make it work. lol

2 VHO 72" full spectrum bulbs and a 96w power compact. It's a pretty deep tank and we wanted to make sure that the light was hitting the bottom. Too much you think?

Each bulb is 160w. So 320w total for the VHO's plus the 96w power compact.

You know, when we bought all those plants it looked like so much! But when you put tiny plants in a BIG tank, they really look teeny weeny! lol I can't wait for them to fill in. Hopefully they will do well with our lighting. My husband is looking into Co2, knowing him it will be installed soon. I don't know anything about co2, hopefully he does his homework.
