New to the forums! Gourami Stocking Question

I still would skip the Trichogaster tirchopterus. Not worth the risk IMO of mixing gouramis.

I would also find the name for your "algae eater"...best thing I could come up with is a SAE but they don't hang on the glass.

I would increase your tetra school to at least 12.

And maybe another loach or two depending on the exact tank size.

Algae eater that looks like a stealth fighter... hmmm... sounds like a pleco. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pleco? If so, be wary about the ones you'll find at the chains. They tend to be "common" pleacos and usually have HUGE adult sizes.

Um, I'm dumb.

Stealth fighter probably = a pleco, so yes be careful on which species you get.

:)Hi! and Welcome to AC!:thm:

Would Harlequin Rasbora or Danios be too much excitement for the Pearl Gourami?

I'm keeping a small school (10) of harlequins, and would really recommend them. They are attractive, school nicely, and seem to give a nice calm feel to the tank - not as hyper as some small schooling fish I have kept, like various tetras, which sometimes get on my nerves to be honest. I don't think harlequins would worry gouramis at all.

Thanks for all the further advice. Definately a Pleco. I see some get to 2 feet in length (OMG). I also seen a there is suppose to be a newer introduced smaller adult sized Pleco. Any idea what it is?

I see your concern for what I was going to select as a algae eater. Any recommendations?

I am fairly certain my friends was a Sucker-Mouth Catfish (Hypostomus plecostomus), no standing dorcal fin. I was really fond of my friends Pleco, but 12+" may be a bit too much space. 6-7" could be more tolerable though.

Do Panda cories eat algae? I've always wanted to know this
Cause their pretty small and if they it algae thats like a double positive! :)
