Also i just noticed today my female swordtail has what looks like a pimple under here lip/mouth what could this be?

nope looks like a regular old white head pimple humans get

You use it to remove the chlorine and chloamine, which can kill the fish you have in your tank and the growing bacteria.

It binds the ammonia and nitrites to a non-toxic form, harmless to the fish yet available to the bacteria.

In a fishy cycle, YOU DO NOT WANT SPIKES.
