Awesome! That's great news. It's amazing how much bettas will perk up and show their personalities with a little care and attention and nice roomy tank.
And, believe me, there's ALWAYS room for just one more aquarium
I love good stories.... I do want to say that it looks as though Fysh is definitely a male... and a quite pretty little guy too.... we're all pulling for the little devil
Thanks for the reply. I read the article about MelaFix. The more I read, the more I don't know what to believe or who to trust. I got two opinions, both favorable, about using MelaFix before I started the treatment. Now this article says it is a bad thing. What to do?
Hi. I understand feeling conflicted. It's awful. When my betta, Travis, got fin rot, I treated him (and the unafflicted platys and otos) with a complete course (one week) of tetracycline. Everything was great until about a week or 10 days after completion of the tetracycline treatment. I noticed Travis had a pinhole and a slight rip in his tail. I went back to the LFS and they advised that I treat for a week with Melafix, which I did. Travis is completely mended, and neither he nor his tankmates suffered any ill effects. BTW, Travis & Co. share a 12-gal tank. Good luck with Fysh and thanks for caring enough to rescue her/him.
Rick-O and wife, and daughter!!! You guys are just AWESOME!!! You have saved the life of a wonderful, funny, happy little fish. You have done everything right for this little guy.
I can't tell you how much we all are thrilled by a story like this. Wonderful that your daughter rescued him and brought him home; he was sure to die before much longer.
Post more pics when you can. Oh, and what a wonderful Smorgasboard you have for him. That is one incredibly fortunate little Bettas.
