alright everyone i've been researching for a few days here on fish i'd like to keep buti cant make up my mind... the only thing i've decided is that id like to have it moderatly planted with lots of driftwood and a bit of rock work. i've done the african cichlids and mixed community tank of tetras before (both of which i kinda grew bored of) and for a few years i even had a reef tank so i'm fairly confident in my fish keeping abilities.

now heres a list of fish i've been looking at...

cory's-theyre a must have for this tank and i think im going to do two different groups of 6

knight gobys-seem to get nothing but conflicting information about them on whether or not they can live in freshwater. the guy at my lfs who i trust alot tells me he's bred them before and blah blah blah and personally he kept them thier whole lives in freshwater fine.

moth catfish, i think they look pretty interesting however they like slightly colder water around 70ish

Tiger butterfly hillstream loach- this is also a cooler water fish

loaches- mainly the weather loach is what ive been looking at but i find them all pretty cool

basicly i kinda wanna go an oddball route aka the uglier the better, with this tank, but i still want to have some variety in species. so anyone have ideas or suggestions for me??? thanks everyone

:welcome: to AC!

What size is the tank? Don't keep hillstream loaches unless you can design a river setup which makes the best environment possible for them. Tankmates must also tolerate cooler temperatures. White cloud mountain minnows in particular make fine tankmates. Danios should also be fine. Look into Puntius denisonii. Expensive but stunning to look at.

If the cories are a must-have, you can basically cross out everything else you just listed.

Knight gobies are brackish, and the other three are river fish.

I don't get why this is NSFW either.

thanks for the welcome, yea i may have to part with the corys and do a river set up which i dont see a problem in doing. would there be any other river fish i could keep with the hillstream loaches and moth cats aside from danios and minnows that might be a bit more interesting? i think thatd be a real interesting tank. and yea i kinda figured that on the knight gobys because thats what the general consensus seems to be but theirs always a few people that say otherwise and fill me with false hopes..

however i reallllllllly love corys so can someone else think of any peacefull oddballs i could pair with them? i was thinking of pygmy corys, but that seems like itd be alotta corys

and as far as the NSFW part well.... [edited]... ****... there now its nsfw
