Octopus tank (log)

just did a water change with the distilled, whenever i do water changes he reaches out to grab the i gallon bottle i use, he has at least two very long arms. when he stretches them out they can reach at lest 10 inches 0.o

the nitrates are back down to below 10 now

He sounds cute. Its a great that he is interested in his surroundings. Glad to hear he is alive and that your water is improving.

He keeps losing tentacles, how many does he have 3? You have to find a way for him to stop.

It looks like she is taking protective measures right now by trying to address any escape exits or possible filter problems. Most likely he keeps losing them due to confusion and stress from shipping and being in a new aquarium.

the first 2 1/2 were lost before i had him and now he doesn't have the opportunity to loose one to the filter. also i still havnt gotten a look at all of his arms so its possible he only lose part of one, or didn't lose an arm at all and the remains in the pump were something else.

How do you lose track of him in a not so big tank?
octos can squeeze into the smallest of areas with ease and the fact that they camafalge so well doesn't help. since hes new he spends almost all of his time hiding. (or exploring filters:headshake2:)
