Octopus tank (log)

hes still alive but still not doing to well. today he accepted a shrimp(grudgingly) but i found it in the tank a little wile later uneaten. of coarse ill still offer food everyday. he did however come out into the open and even up to the glass a couple days ago. i think it was because i had the cat on my lap. he always got excited when he spotted my cat, more so than when he spotted people. the cat hasn't noticed fluffy though. every one in a wile he still digs as well.
[EDIT] i just looked back at the tank and one eye of his is watching me (: he hasn't done that in wile

I find it absolutely adorably that fluffy is so interested in people and a cat. I have this image, almost, of him being lonely and wanting something living in his tank to play. I have no idea why but he reminds me of a cat or puppy in a cage at a pet store/animal shelter.

Geek.. Any updates??? How's Fluffy.. I'm concerned!!!

I wonder if you could have made some sort of puzzle for him. Like the ones they make for parrots except with a shrimp instead of sunflower seeds.

hes still hanging in their. iv got him eating again, one silver side a day. he came out up to the glass again to check out my new box of water (a 20 gallon long freebie :) ) then watched me ,from a distance, scape algae off the new tank for an hour:screwy:.

around the time he went into senescence i had one of those plastic gumbal cases you get from 25cent machines drilled with holes that i was going to put shrimp in. by the time i actually tried it with him he was unresponsive. its a shame because he seems like an intuitive octopus and i think he would have enjoyed it. their are a few videos of octos opening such containers and jars on you tube. i had some other things planned for him too. ill try them with my next octo :) as i know ill want another somewhere down the line. though it wont be quite the same.

I'll keep praying for him.. Glad he is still around.. Pray he returns to his past glory..

No, you have inspired many of us. Fluffy is gone, but I would like to see you try an another exotic creature. Chin up, smile, and realize that if Fluffy being gone is the worst of your worries then you have a pretty good life. Sooo looong Fluffy......

not gone quite yet but thats for the words. as for more exotic critters, i have a big move planned in a couple of years so until then ill be keeping a couple easy fish(to be sold prior to the move) and build up my pod population/ work on some culturing for some pipe fish i might be getting after the move(wouldn't want to put them thou a 3day move). when i win the lottery ill try a GPO(giant pacific octopus) tank:headbang2: haha then ill have a good 6 years with the octo.

 cant wait till i get my own place to stuff with tanks:devil:

Well, remember the fun times with Fluffy. Remember him in life not in death. That was one happy and spoiled Octopus.

Sorry to hear about Fluffy's decline. I know how much I missed mine when she died after her babies hatched out. Which btw, I misidentified her as O. vulgaris. She was an O. briareus like yours. O. vulgaris release up to 500,000 eggs which are attached to the substrate. O. briareus only have about 500 which they attach in a cave.
