oh boy paludarium experiment #2

Today I had a piece of glass cut for a new glass top. 4 stick on rubber feet create what I think is going to be the amount of airflow I've been testing with the hinged top. gives about 1/4" of air space all the way across the front and back. this also gives me about 1/4" more headroom, allowing me to resposition the loc-line more easily. a side effect: there is less vibration noise as well. the tank is almost silent to begin with.

How is the HC attaching to the cork? How about another FTS now that the top is on? I bet the plants are really appreciating the extra humidity.

the HC is just barely attaching to the cork... it's not quite stuck, but doesn't move. I need to be a bit careful with my hands in there. the top actually lets out a little too much humidity, this morning is was in the low 70%s I was shooting for more around 80. I may remove the rear feet, so there is around 40% less air gap.

FTS? can't think of what that stands for.

interesting failure I posted in the invert forum: the shrimp are actually climbing the waterfall and jumping into the filter.

I'm considering the tank now "done"
Sunday I pick up 8-10 Danionella translucida, completing the stocking. I'll leave the shrimp in the filter until the next filter cleaning, and probably remove the juvie cherry barb... I've also already added what I think is a gold spotted ramshorn snail, also courtesy of Inka. There are some MTS in there too, that hitched on the HC.

That is a really cool set up!!
