Omg Glow In The Dark Fish!-what The?

Gosh...maybe on-line...?

Wouldn't be an option for me. The only people that sell online in Ireland sell BP's...and glo-fish danios too I think.

not everyone wants to order online when you are lucky enough to have several big fish stores right close to where you live. Besides, being a former employee, they are kind enough to give me a discount.

pretty good for a store that sells parrots eh?

besides, its fun to go in and look at tanks, look at fish, talk to people about fish and buy fish too. and you can save money as well.

ordering everything off the net is not the same.

and you can actually physically see what you are buying too.

we should be supporting our LFS's.

not boycotting them.

I hope you will do the same one day.

Nope, not if they carry dyed, tattooed, painted or genetically altered fish, or I feel they are so hypocritical to espouse one thing and do another.

okay cool.

but if you lived where I do, or lived around LFS's that choose to offer these fish because thats what their customer base wants, then you would be missing out on a large part of the fun of this hobby.

going to LFS's to shop is part of the fun and exciting aspects of this hobby of ours.

at least in my opinion.

I still like going to LFS's.

maybe not everyone does, but I do.

Well 12 volt if a LFS doesn't sell blood parrots and died tattooed and painted fish it means they a real hobbyist not just there to make a buck and maybe sell disposable pets
if i could find an LFS like that i would be amazed
or one that didn't sell vampire tetras pacus red tail cats bala sharks and large plecos and any thing else that gets too big to be kept in a tank but i live in NY and there are many stupid people like the people that bought a 2.5 gallon tank for a goldfish even after the sales person told them to get a bigger tank and i told them too and i don't even work there.
people are very stupid some don't even do water changes they just top off and then replace everything in their filter at once
at one LFS i saw the manager who has fish at home dump the new fish that had just come in the boxes over a colander type strainer on top of a 35 gal plastic garbage can to either pick out the dead fish or to keep medicated or contaminated water out of his system i didn't ask him why
at even the best LFS i have found i saw tattooed pink convicts or kissers i forget which

exactly.

the ideal fish store that doesn't sell parrots, coloured tetras, and other popular altered fish that is talked about in this thread does not exist.

why?

because they probably went out of business....

we may not like it, but thats life in the retail fish world.

in order to survive you have to keep your customers happy.

like it or not.

who saw what the comment says??? lol

Any1 seen fish dipped in ick?

I can only imagine if I were a pet store owner, and it was a choice between selling genetically modified fish, or the possibility of losing everything I'd worked for...the fish would be in stock.
