Oranges as Food

I am going back to PetsMart this Friday or Saturday. I will buy a veggie clip. Should I rinse the slices before I feed them??? How large of a piece should I put in a 10 gallon with two juvenile Fantail Goldfish??? Do all PetsMarts do the thing where you print of what you want from their website, and if it isn't the same or a cheaper price when you get there, they will give it to you for the cheaper price??? Can you bring in catalogs that have stuff cheaper in it and they give you the cheaper price??? I go to the Petsmart in Knoxville, Tn.

I would just put a small piece at first, until they get to know what it is. (Just going by other new foods I've tried, the first time they didn't touch it that I could see, then a nibble the next time, until it was devoured and the pieces keep getting bigger and bigger)

An alternative (and slightly cheaper) to actual veggie clips can be found in the bird section. There is a 2-pack of clips made by Hagen (LivingWorld). They are all plastic and I like them better than fish veggie clips because they open wider. (Although, note, they're not quite as heavy as a veggie clip.)

Edit, I'm a visual person, so in case you are too, here's a pic of the clips (of course this is the Canadian version packaging with French):

oh yes forgot to mention peas, although i always "skin" my peas first, it seems my fish don't like the pea-skins much

Can I just drop a piece of an orange in the tank or do I have to have a vegie clip? Is there anything else they would eat?? I know someone who put balogna in the tank at the nursing home for the golfish to eat. They didn't eat it and I found it a week later when I was vacuuming the gravel. Can they eat pieces of crackers?

So what kind of veggies or fruits can you feed to fish and would you need any special treatments?

Does it float or suction cup into the aquarium?

The bird clip alone, even without any food, will sink. When I put it in the tank, I push the non-food end into the gravel just so it stays in one place better. Does not have a suction cup. I actually removed the suction cup from the veggie clip I have. The fish did not eat the food when it was suctioned to the glass. They want it on the gravel for some reason. (But that's just my fish.)

my wife and I saw the oranges in petsmart the other day and all we could do was stare and go WTF?! it was awesome since the goldfish were just annihilating the oranges. I'm thinking I'll see if my residents will like some one of these days. I have found that my bristlenose loves asparagus though ;)
