ordering computer vent!

Ok, so Feb. 11th I went online to HP and ordered a new computer, est.shipping date was the 23rd (since I made upgrades on it) so the 23rd get's here...no tracking number on the order status when I checked so well that WAS and estimated ship date no biggie right? So I wait till Monday the 26th still nothing, I decided to call well the women I talked to looked my order up after a few minutes get's back on and tell's me "your computer is done and ready to be shipped it will go out later today" YIPPY it should be here in a couple day's woooopy yi ya!!! Well here it is now the 28th...guess what I check the shipping tracking and NO TRACKING number still so I call again this time a guy tells me "do to production delay your computer is not ready yet and should be shipped in the next 2 business day's" ERRRRRRRR but the women I talked to the other day said it was ready to be shipped!!! Response: "Yes it should of been ready, but due to production delay in some of the parts you ordered it will be a couple day's" OMG I am so agrivated right now...has anyone ordered from HP before, did you have any problems?

Sorry for the vent just needed to say/do something after I got off the phone!

I ordered a custom HP/Compaq laptop late last year....no problems at all. Took about 7 business days until I received it. works great
 
I'm sure it will be worth the wait but I REALLY want this computer...mine freezes up so much anymore...it is a HP also but I didn't get it direct from HP..just from Wal-Mart I've had it for about 5 yrs now and aside from replacing the modem, and adding extra memory it has been a good little computer. This time I decided to go through HP itself just so I can get all the upgrades and everthing from get go and have what I need and want! BUT IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY WAITING for it...maybe you can tell I'M NOT A PATIENT PERSON.
 
Well, haven't had recent issues with HP. But for comparison, 2 weeks ago...

I ordered a fully custom built Dell, from Dell, at 9 PM Friday night. I had a tracking number Sunday afternoon; computer/monitor arrived at 9AM Tuesday morning, no express shipping.

My wife ordered a stock Compaq laptop from an on-line dealer, had it within 96 hours.

OMG!!!! Can you believe this now!!!

OK, my PC finally came:bday: wooo-whoooo right....well not really, first I had to be at work at 3:00 yesterday low and behold about 2:30 I get the computer ERRRR should I be late for work (NO can't be) so I go to work and get home about 3am not going to do it then (had a few beer's before leaving figured I best wait till morning) So morning gets here and I excitedly get up ready to put it together and surf on my fast computer!!! I get it together, turn it on and the monitor says "no input", then "monitor going to sleep" well I've had the monitor and it works fine on my old computer so I knew it wasn't the monitor, checked all the wires and plug ins they are all fine then I thought "well it did come with a installation CD, maybe I have to install it first" so I go to push the button to open the CD/DVD drive guess what IT'S NOT THERE!!!! They didn't install the CD drive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I call customer service...after being on hold for about 20 minutes a guy comes on can barely understand the guy, after telling him my delima he puts me on hold again and then comes back on and tells me I'll have to repackage everything in the original packaging and ship it back to them (of coarse the kids had already got ahold of the boxes and made forts) they are no longer in one piece.....but that's not the worst he tells me he can ship me a computer with all the spec's I had ordered but hey it's going to cost me 100 bucks more than I had paid!!!! How can this be?????? I could get one with that is almost the same but instead of having 4MB it would only have 2 for the Intel Pentium and it would only have 1GB instead of 2 for the memory that would be about the same price, I said no I want what I ordered and for the price I ordered...well needles to say in the end I got fed up and hung up went online and went to the intent chat to see if I could get anything done...they are suppose to have the upper supervisor call me in 48hrs to see what we can do!!!! I love HP but now I'm not so much:devil: :mad2: :devil: :mad2:

Any advice anyone???:huh:

WOW I would ask the upper manager not only when the correct computer would be there but what kind of refund/gift cirtificate/upgrade they where going to give me for my time and troubles!
 
Wow now that is some customer service but the did say that they had part issues right so maybe the computer was shipped when the lady said it was with out the cdrom huh?? ...............lol
Im sorry but I tried to order a HP once and had the same problems then called I swear this man was in India and had a New York accent now the New York part drove me nuts anyway I ordered a full blown power house from dell XPS
I LOVE IT told them it was a buisness computer and you get to talk to someone from Texas yeah........................................:Angel:
 
I did warranty service on my HP laptop with minimal issues. The biggest problems I had was phone tech support. It is in India. I had much better luck using ther chat program during business hours. OTOH, I told them my hard drive was bad, adn they convinced me otherwise. Guess what, they replaced the hard drive, along with the memory.
