Oscar not eating?

i am so happy i got him...i'm trying not to feed him tonight, hopefully he tummy will look smaller. everytime i come up to the tank he's in such a rush to get me lol. i tried to put my finger in the tank, but then i think he thought it was food, coz he poked his head out of the water trying to get at it so i quickly removed my fingers lolll.
well today i looked at his tummy and it has gone back to normal now, so i guess he wasn't stuffed up or anything, probably fed him too many prawns on one night! today i hand fed him again, i tried to stroke him, but he kept backing away slowly so i decided not to push it. also, he plays around with the hikari pelets and bloodworms, he pushes it out of his gills, he tries to trick me into thinking he's eating them!!! but he loves the JMC pellets - so i give him a few in the morning then he gets spirulina flakes, then prawns or shrimps. for now, he is doing fine.
yeah, i bought a frozen pack of beefheart - they are in cubes...but he seems to ignore it? i got it from the same shop i got him from. dunno why he won't eat it. he loves prawns and he loves the spirulina flakes - those are the only two things he won't spit out! i managed to bribe my brother in law to change the water in my tanks whilst i'm on holiday for three weeks, i had to give him £50!!!
