Our First Taste of cucumber

I thought it was those weights that come with stem plants, but could be a peice of stainless steel.
what did u do to prepare it?? ive been wanting to give sum cucumber to my bristlenose but not too sure what to do with it
I blanched the cucumber first of all just in boiling water and weighed it down with plant weights which can be bought for less than £1.00 for a big box full. seemed to do the trick apart from when they eat straight through the middle and either side floats up. haha.
when i feed cucumber or zuccini to my fish i boil it until it doesn't float anymore, then i can just drop it in..makes it kinda squishy for them, they eat it faster that way...i run cold water over it till it's cold..not sure but i think that helps it sink...usually feed it to them at bedtime, and most of it is gone within 24 hours...if not i leave it in one more night, and in the morning it is either all gone or just an 0 of skin left...pleco's and loaches love it...you can also try feeding them (cooked)peeled peas, boiled lettuce and brocolli..my fish love them all...seedless cucumber and zuccini seem to be thier favorite, and peas usually make them 'fight',which can be pretty amusing since no one actually gets hurt....just a warning i only feed brocoli if i'm planing to clean out the tank the next day as they tend to make quite a mess with it.
