We don't need meat specifically, we need animal protein. Meat is not the only source of animal protein. Besides, I and all humans do a billion unnatural things daily, starting when I get out of my bed and brush my teeth, dress in clothes, drive my car to work, etc. If we were bound to doing only natural things we wouldn't be having this conversation. As a side note, dogs aren't universally recognized as true carnivores. They can digest and utilize some plant material.

First off you are throwing things way out of context, my thought as to why is because I have made a point you can not rebute after you stated that I showed no biological proof, which I have now done. Second dogs are carnivores, wild dogs eat only meat, while they eat the stomach lining of wild animals the lining is all that is eaten, the contents are left to the side. I have seen the effects of dogs getting plant matter first hand, when I use to fead my dogs kibble (nutro) it had plant matter in it and their stool was very large (I have 3 pits and a great dane) when I switched them to a raw diet consisting of only raw meat and bones their stool shrunk in size to about a quarter of what it was on kibble. Why because there is no vegitable matter passing thru without being digested therefore less waste.

Also please link me to a site other than those produced by dog food companies that show dogs digest plant matter.

The unnatural comment, it is not biologicly unnatural to wear clothes or any of the other crap you listed. You asked for a biological basis as to why we need meat, I gave you one and you went off on wearing cloths and brushing teeth. So you do not dispute the fact that we as humans are omnivores?? If you agree with that then you by simple logic agree that we need meat, as if we didn't (like I stated earlier) we would not be designed to eat it.

OKAY you do realise you are saying "animal protein" repeatedly..correct??? So you are saying that we as humans are more capable to create animal protien than "mother nature" who created the animals that hold the protien we need to survive??? Why where we not biologicly programed to eat these other sources from the start of time instead of causeing the slaughter of millions of animals that we didn't need to eat??? Could this be because we do need them and our design is perfect, I think so. The other ways you speak of are plant matter (I assume this as you don't eat meat) if we could get what we need from plants then why are we biologicly not designed as herbivores??? You are argueing thousands of years of biological and evolutonary facts.

Okay so you are saying eggs, cheese, yogert and thing like that?? even still you can't honestly belive that they hold the same nutrition as meat, we need meat we even need small portions of fat from the meat. You may be able to get some of the protiens but certinly they are not the same. That would be why the items I listed are mostly dairy products (which we also need). If there is another source you are talking about please just put it out there, as I feel no need or desire to guess.

of course it's dairy. Dairy products are lower in iron than meat products, but that's about it. The proteins are the same. It's actually very difficult to consume too little protein. Protein's in virtually everything, it's in milk, it's in spinach it's in twizzlers. A far greater danger is becoming anemic. And anyway, I know you said you purchase meats from people you know but as I'm sure you know most people don't. The saturated fat content in a lot of commercially raised meat products outweighs the iron and protein content. The way people raise meat these days is exponentially more unnatural than my diet.

I don't argue that meat these days is pumped full of crap. What I do argue is the biological and evolutiionary proof that we as humans are made to eat MEAT not protien but MEAT. I also kill a lot of what I eat and get a lot of meat from my family when their freezers get full. I will say that too much meat is bad but I still feel it is needed. Unless you can dispute the biological facts I have gave (and you asked for) I think this conversation is going nowhere, you still have yet to explain why we are designed to eat meat. You say that it is not unnatural to abstain from meat, why are your teath pointy and why do your stomach enzymes digest it, these things where not added to our design for fun.
