Always good to ask questions. There's no harm in not knowing, the harm is in not finding out!! Most haze on acrylic surfaces is generally from cleaning w/ the wrong stuff (eg. windex). It can usually be reversed. Scratches, depending on how severe can also be removed w/ a combonation of #2 & or #3 plus elbow grease. A low speed buffer can assist but be careful. (1000 rpm or less) As for inside damage, the MSDS lists several chemicals that could be fatal. I would not chance cleaning w/ fish in the tank. Empty the tank, clean & rinse thoughly, then refill is the safest way to go. Depending on how abused the surface is, it might take some work but the end result will be worth it.
