I've been looking for some kind of bottom-dweller for my 10 gallon. The norman's lampeyes are very much top dwellers, and the licorice gourami kinda cruises around everywhere.
I found a good price on a pair of peacock gudgeons on aquabid (haven't seen any around here). I like the idea of a pair of fish- it would balance the big school of small fish, I think.
I have pretty soft water, which the lampeyes and gourami both like. Would the peacock's be ok, you think? As far as I can tell, the gourami is pretty peaceful, if anything I'd be more worried about him getting chased by the male peacock, but he's very small and there are lots of hiding places.
I know I'd need to get a cave, anything else special? I keep frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp on hand, so I think I'd be ok as far as feeding. Do you think they'd spawn in a community tank?
