PETA's Stance on Aquariums

Ummm... I know a guy that smoked pot under a "bowl" when he was scuba diving, is that the same thing? (I do not condone smoking that crap though.)

Talking of freedom, the animals in my aquarium almost always have freedom from predators, freedom from disease, freedom from pollution, freedom from famine and freedom from environmental disasters. Living in the wild is totally the opposite.
Exactly why I don't get why folks don't believe a fish in captivity wouldn't get as large or even larger than it's wild counterparts.

HAHA P.E.T.A!!!!!!!!! Do they not realize that the aquarium industry has kept several species of tropical fish from going extinct ?????? by breeding them in captivity and releasing them into the wild?????? PETA haha what a joke !
We don't breed them and then release in the wild. There are rules enforced for this action as there are disastrous consequences in this attempt. Diseases that are not native at all can cause the destruction of several wild fish as the native flora and fauna do not have immunity against them. I am sure there are a few other reasons you will know when you read plenty of articles around the websites why you cannot release a captive-bred fish.;)

We breed just to prevent overcollection of wild species from their native habitat. A prime example would be that of the Danio margaritatus. If it were not for the breeding programs, overcollection would have caused their native population to decline rapidly and lead to extinction which has already happened to a few fish.

Come one come all and join my new group to prove that PETA is less caring about living things.

My group is called PETM (People for the Ethical Treatment of Microorganisms). DO you know how many people kill innocent bacteria every year? Look at poor Salmonella and Ecoli. We prey on these misunderstood creatures. Why must we devote so many resources to killing the poor things?

My next group will be PETP (People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants). Trimming grass and your hedges is not like cutting hair. we should foster their uninhibited growth as they provide shelter to fantastic creatures like, Rats and mice, and other creatures that allow for the misunderstood creatures my other group is protecting, Like Plague and the Hanta Virus. Eating plants is cruel, just as PETA says eating meat is cruel. and look out the next time you grab for that Yogurt. Yogurt is mainly bacteria, so digesting that is cruel.

Come one and all and we shall educate everyone to never eat food again!!!!!!!

Ok sorry, done panting now.
