Pets

I know, Out here in Hawaii, we had a story on the news about a Filipino family getting a dog on craigslist, then they ate it. Gross, that's was really bad! but I don't wanna go all peta, I think as long as they are not abused, so be it. We cannot change the different world cultures, no matter how much anyone trys....

I 100% disagree with this. If someone takes somebody else's PET and the owner wants it to be a PET and not ****ing FOOD, and EATS it, they can go to hell in my book.

I completely agree, however the resposibility lies on the person placing the pet. I have bred and sold show dogs and the seller should take complete responsibility to ensure (even go as far as contracts!) that said dog/pet is kept and treated in a responsible manner. Shame on the craigslist lister who did not do any research before giving up a "pet" to a stranger! :swear:

heh..you'd be surprised at the hostility this subject has created in the past. I'd like to see an overall opinion of the current user base though. ;)

 You got me going didn't ya?!

As long as the animal in question is being cared for properly I got no problem
domesticated animals are perfectly fine to keep and shame on people for releasing domesticated animals in to the wild :cough: PETA :cough:
I think some wild caught animals an unethical to keep, like animals who have low wild populations.
But pets are a very valuable since they give the keeper a special bond with the natural world, which now a days most of us see our selves as above animals. Pets bridge that gap and give us a sense of wonder and respect for the natural world which in turn helps the future generations to save the environment. Because why would you let a place be destroyed when your childhood pet came from that spot? us humans are such sentimental creatures and pets are all around important in sooooo many more ways we can think of here in this thread!
