Petsmart is wonderful.

I have no complaints with any of the four petsmarts here. The only thing I wish is, they would sell a variety of plants, and quit selling that darn Mondo grass.

petco has a bad saltwater section but they give away some really nice and expensive fish. You've heard the blood parrot story so I wount bother telling it again

i really like the petsmart here they take care of there fish and i have had most of my questions answered. i actually found someone in the fish department that knew all about how to take care of bettas! im surprised because around here thats rare. however i dont get my fish products there i get them online :)

my pet smarts gravel is green so when i was 21 i started working there and one guy said that he couldnt find one dead fish to buy:woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

Haha nice...I'm 50/50 on chains but as per my post referring to the guy selling fish to a death-house I've lost a lot of respect for them.

My local petsmart has people in the fish dept that have tanks of their own. They do a terrific job handling and cleaning. The gear is outrageously priced but the fish are very reasonable especially when they do 50% off sales which is... always. ;)

My Petsmart has clean tanks, very rarely any sign of illness, I've had very good survival rates with fish I've bought there, and knowledgeable staff. They're even a little pushy with the "How big a tank do you have? What's already in it?" They're my first choice locally for anything except bettas. They have bigger cups than the other 2 big box stores locally, but there's an LFS that puts males in quart jars and females in a sorority tank that is my first choice for bettas, but Petsmart here has nice healthy bettas.

They also have cat display cages for the Humane Society and city animal shelter. 2 of our 3 cats have come from the Humane Society via Petsmart, and since we weren't looking for a cat at the time, we never would have seen them if it weren't for Petsmart's display cages. When we got our now 10 year old cat, Petsmart had run the Humane Society out of cats 3 times!

Wrek mentioned their sales. They have several varieties of tetras for only a buck all month.

Hahaha, totally a zombie thread, but I'll say the Petsmarts in my area are pretty good too. One I'd even call great. The chain as a whole has made such drastic improvements in the fish section in the past 10 years, I hope they keep up the good work.
