I wanted to give a quick "big thumbs up" to Pfertz.

I have used SeaChem Flourish, Excel, Iron, etc, etc. in the past and switched over to "strictly" Pfertz a couple of weeks ago. My plants have responded very, very well (look even better than before - lol). My Anubias is sprouting like wild fire and everything has a very rich color.

Pfertz couldn't be easier to use - comes in squirt bottles. Micros, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium. 1 squirt of each per 10 gallons per day; 1 squirt of each per 10 gallons of water changed on WC day.

If you haven't tried them, it may be worth looking into ...

I have some left over too ... not sure what to do with it (lol). When yours runs out, you might want to give Pfertz a try!

No, not actually ... much, much better results with Pfertz and there is no guess work in dosing! I've used both (not sure if you have) and Pfertz seems to be a better solution!

The better results is from dosing daily, which ensures there is plenty of nutrients in the water. Dosing Seachem's products daily or every other day will achieve similar results.

I use dry ferts these days, stopped paying for water awhile ago. The chemicals are the same, you just need to get comfortable with the measuring spoons.

Thanks for the input. I dosed SeaChem daily also. In fact, following their chart to the letter. Just didn't have the same success as I have had with Pfertz. Not sure, the tank just seems to be reacting better (I watch it pretty close).

ada still has the same type of ferts. both are good but you can very well mix your own and do your own thing. one thing i like about mixing your own is you can control how strong it is. i make up double or triple the strength for some of them to cut down on the amount i have to add.

Gamer - that's exactly the reason I don't mix my own. Too much hassle (for me - not you), etc. I would much rather do 5 pumps of each every day and be done. Much easier and much more in tune with my skill level (lol).
