Warning..pretty big picture. I decided to see if I can sorta get a closeup shot of one of my larger congo tetras (nearly 3.5" long) and let me tell you its a scary sight. Not so cute and friendly when it looks big :(

cool fish, nice colors
do you ever feed them live foods?

welcome emg! im actually kinda lazy to look at all the pics so i really only saw urs.

Hi Lobo,

I dont ever feed life food - well except for the odd house fly it I smack and dissorient and toss in the water.

What I do give them is an alternating schedule of the following stuff:

-HBH basic flakes
-HBH Spirulina flakes
-Freeze dried shrimp *
-Freeze dried tubifex worms *
-Hikari mini cichlid pelets
-Freeze dried blood worms *

the items with a *, I never feed by itself. I feed it as a secondary food source after feeding them a little bit of the basic flakes.

I think if i was to feed live food, they would definitly be larger and more colourful but I dont know what to feed :(

aight here we go........i am really lovin the flix ashdavid (i think thats your name) you have some seriouse tanks, love that big one!

all nice picks, im a newby at fish stuff, although i work at petsmart, (i work
in the dogs, so i know a lot about dogs, but not a whole lot about fish) i have been learning about tropical fish the past few months, and i have already spent around 200-300$ on my 20 gallon tank, i let it cycle for around 4 - 5 days, and i put in ...

4 neon tetras (jumbo)

and also i found these little bulbs at a local wal mart, even though i dont recomend buying fish suplies from there, but i wanted to try these out, they look pretty neat, it says you drop em' in your tank and within 15 days they should be up to 9 inches long with bulbs and flowers bloomed..... just put em' in today along with a huge african sword plant... (does anyone know if these actually work, says they are guranteed!!??)

Hello BizKut, nice job for a new tank !

Yes, those bulbs do sometimes work...but sometimes don't. It depends on how long they have been sitting in storage or the store. But, there is an address on the packaging where you can send the failed bulbs and they will replace the ones that didn't make it...plus extras.

You've been bitten....LOL ! It's all over now ! :D
