Pic of my 20 gal.

What camera did you use? Those are some stellar pictures. I would like to get a camera that takes pics like that. If you know the specs, and you don't mind me asking what you paid, please post it.

Hi tbone,

Thanks :) I'm still learning so maybe I was more lucky than anything to get the shots but the camera is a Canon 20D. Its a very nice camera but I've gotten similar shots with my older Canon Digital Rebel (300D) as well. I only upgraded up to the 20D because one of my friends kept hounding me for my 300D so I sold it to him and went for the upgrade.

The 20D is way more advanced than I'll ever get but I guess its a good thing. I wont feel like I will need an upgrade...

Oh and price.. it was super expensive. About $1650 US

I think the Canon Rebel XT is more than up to the task of taking identical pics. The only difference is the 20D supports up to 3200 ISO instead of 1600, has higher burst mode frame rates and has a metal body instead of plastic. Oh the viewfinder uses a prism instead of a mirror which is better as well. Not sure if thats worth nearly 40% more $$ to most. Dont get me wrong, I love my 20D but I just dont have skill level to make full use of it. My old rebel was ideal and it was way WAY cheaper.

Anyway I'll be posting some shots later of other fish hopefully :) Well see if I can do it again and get some decent shots. LOL. Maybe luck will not be on my side again.

Hey Raskolnikov, is that a wolf fish? How big is it? Man it looks pretty dangerous to other aquatic life forms :) Guess it would be a bad mix in a tank with a dempsey and a couple angels and silver dollars huh :)

I took a pic of my betta today. He's in an 8" round vase that holds approx 1 gallon of water. Its probably not idea but he seems pretty happy. The vase is on my computer desk. The room light seems to provide enough light for the plants to grow and root. I find since the plants went in, the water quality has gotten better and he seems happier and more comfortable. Sometimes he likes to go hide in the roots. I think it feels safe.

Not sure what type of house plants they are by the way. All I know is they root in water and grow longer and longer. If you cut it and put the end in water, it will slowly root and continue as a second plant.

Im finding my betta to be one of the smartest fish I've had so far! That includes an Oscar I had ages ago :) Love the little critter.

Hi Kayla. So the yellow is the female I take it? She's holding the eggs or young? Kinda cute. Probably pretty aggressive right now :)

Yeah, female is the orange one. In that pic she was about 1 week away from spitting the brood so there were little wigglers in there! She has now spit and I have 17 little ones :thm: :D

some of my crew

Robin, my African Dwarf Frog, died of bloat in July.

Stewart, my betta, had him about two years now, this is when he was in a 1 gallon bowl. Considering what I did and didn't know about fish, I'm kind of surprised he survived that first year.
