There fun to watch when they eat. But the tank was boring for me because I couldnt keep anything but the 3 piranha because they would eat everything but the gravel.

Yes, even my com. pleco i had in their...so far, I have considered getting a blue lobster cuz that is number one suggestion

I wouldn't mess with keeping them. I would think they'd get boring after a while. It's fun to watch them eat, but keeping them fed would get expensive in the long run and they tend to be timid fish when they're not feeding. Also, if you drop something in the tank, good luck getting it back out.

I was at a LFS getting some plants and happon to be there for a feeding of a tank simply labled "red bellys". 30 3" fish striped a mouse in under a minite. It was defenetly something to see. No one working there was over 25 and the display was put on for another group of young adults. Personaly i think displaying something like that with other customers around was rather stupid as you never know how someone will react. I know plenty of people who would be tramatised by that site.

Chinnp, its a shame you don't know about Red Bellied Piranhas....you should research a little and you would learn some cool stuff...

now we got that out of our system.
i guess the smallest would be a 29 for a while, as a grow out tank. I have no experience with piranhas, however. sorry i couldnt be of more help.
