Pit Bull bans...WTF?

tried that a long time ago. It hurts my feelings...makes me want to talk about politics ...religion ..anything...I feel personally attacked and threatened. The mere idea that someone could come into my house and take my dog and KILL IT becasue it might look like a pitbull is reprehensible. It doesn't even have to be one..just look like one. Oh that would just be divine. I can see it now, there would be a whole slew of dogs that all the sudden "look" like pitbulls..taken out and shot. So I wonder, if they take your dog to kill it...how do they do it? Right there in there yard in from of you and the kids? Might as well. WHere the heck is the ACLU on this??

: !! Much to the horror of my grandma, I plan on letting my animals around my baby!! My cousin has a big dog who loves to lick her new babys feet, my grandma insists that one day the baby will turn up missing a toe :thud: !!! I keep joking around with everyone that I won't have any pictures of the baby alone, just with all of my pets b/c it will just be so darn cute

the pic is cute. Looks like the American Bulldog though, not a pitt..... *sigh* I need an American Bulldog.... unfortunately though, there's not enough room...
OH MY GOD!!! SOMEBODY SAVE THAT BABY.....JOOOOOOE, JOOOOOE ITS EATING THE BABIES FACE! OH FOR THE LOVE OF HUMANITY KILL THE DOG.. IT LOOKS SORTA LIKE A PIT BULL, AND NOW THAT IT HAS LICKED THAT BABY IT HAS THE TASTE FOR HUMAN FLESH!!!
Seriously though that is a great photo. I for one will fight and fight and fight for my dogs. I currently have 13 Pits and nobody and I mean nobody will take them away from me unless it is to a new happy home that is lookin for a great companion, guard, brother, sister, daughter, son, family member.

There is a noobie in general freshwater that posted a pic of an american bulldog curled up with a baby. 
Now I of course don't favor wholesale euthanization of all Pit Bulls in Denver, but what all you Pit Bull people need to remember is that this is a dog that was bred to FIGHT other dogs. Not for any other purpose, not for bull baiting, hunting, herding. FIGHTING. One cannot remove a dog's instinct. Pit Bull's require dominant owners who are skilled in dog training.
99% of time is bad owners, not bad dogs. It just needs to be remembered that pit bull's cannot be managed by the average joe dog owner. Hip Hop culture has perpetuated much of this too.
Granted most of a Pit Bull aggression is naturally directed at other dogs. However, an ill trained pit is totally unpredicable. When the Austin paper released their dog bite report, Pit Bulls ranked number 2 behind Chihauhua (and number 1 for bites requiring medical attention). I personally have had several incedents with them in my neighborhood, including one in which an unleashed pit attacked my dog, inflicting several serious wounds in a matter of a few seconds (a 45lb heeler, not a little toy dog). Thankfully my dog is okay.
Of course I know several Pit Bull's that are sweet, well trained dogs. In my experience this is the minority not the majority. The point is that Pit's need responsible owners if we don't want to see what is going on in Denver happen in our hometown.
