So inspired by a previous thread on AC regarding planted fish bowls (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=232882&highlight=luminous) I decided to make one of my own. I followed Whallstad's guidelines.
"tank" - approximately 1.5 gallon square glass vase
substrate - 1" of organic potting soil capped with 1" of black fine gravel (really coarse sand)
plants - 2 Vallisneria nana (still to add - taiwan moss on oak driftwood and maybe a couple of nano marimo balls)
light - screw in cfl "daylight" bulb
I will add the moss on wood this weekend. Next week (water parameters permitting) I will add red cherry shrimp.
Any tips? Ideas? Suggestions?
