Planted 120G Tank

Thanks all for the words of encouragement and support.

Fishycat- Thanks for reminding me I went back and looked at those pictures and I'm now amazed of how much growth I got in just over 2 weeks and it is definitely a lot better. The Bacopa monnieri was growing out of the tank.

I know I'm still getting algae of another type in there but the BN and Ottos seem to be loving it fat bellies constantly and not so much that I'm noticing so I'll keep all things crossed too....LOL

Well I pulled up the Glosso to lower the grade at the front of the tank for the area where I want it to grow. It was quite a bit so I have it listed in the market place, I managed to rid of quite a bit locally but still have a ton left.

I moved some plants around and need to trim some of the Ludwigia palustris so you can see the Colarata behind it. The Pogostemon stellatus narrow leaf is to the top of the tank as well. The Blyxa aubertii needs to be split it's a moster rights. :duh:

The good news BBA isn't only still apparent on hardscape rocks and driftwood for the most part. (Only a few tips of the Val corkscrew as well, why that plant don't know but I can live with that.) I see BBA balls floating around and they get vaccumed out during water changes.

Thanks for looking.

Thank you all,,,,

I think I'm going to ride out this scape for a while. I'll try adding the driftwood back in after the holidays and hunt for some large rocks. A few people in the have used moss rock in aquariums and it's been growing on me for lack of other cheap alternatives.

I'll keep you guys posted if anything changes....

WOW. I wish I had the time and resources and PATIENCE for a planted tank that big. Honestly, I think I like plants more than fish.

Believe it or not I find planting/scaping a larger tank much easier than my Pico but the challenge is the species of plants in one vs the other. I've been surfing CL because I'd like to upgrade to 180 or 210 because I want that 24" depth. I've recently starting seeing the 180g cubes I don't know how structurely sound they are, they make me nervous without the center brace but the depth is nice.

You can keep a planted tank with less demanding plants. I keep a Gold fish tank for the kids with Anubias and only do water changes it's not pretty but it is planted....LOL
