Planted 33 Flat Back Hex (Many pics!)

Man... What a nice tank. Your plants all look immaculate!

Thanks but that's just an optical illusion. :D I spend like an hour everyday pulling out fuzz/hair algae (mostly soft fuzzy stuff) plus any healthy plant credit goes to starstruck because those were fresh out of her tank.

LOL. Could have fooled me. Either way, the tank looks stellar!

This is what the tank looks like BEFORE I pull the algae out. That is just in one day! I bought 7 otos today to help me keep it under control while I try to correct the cause. The picture of them in the bucket didn't come out too good but looks cool. :) Tomorrow I will take better pictures once the algae is cleared out.

Why thank you! I can't wait either!!!

This is what I came home to after my 2 week vacation....

The green is just the stupid exposure, well that and the reflection of all the algae!

A few plants were even growing OUT of the tank. :) ( You can also see my ramshorn gliding across the surface film on the right)

Well the algae grew out of control after this point because I neglected the tank after my return. There was so many different kinds of algae, so many that I didn't think could grow in the same tank (too many different conditions required for the different types of algae). I am also now working 2 jobs so a high tech high maintenance tank is out of the question. Sooo....

I ripped pretty much everything out! And let some of the debris get carried to the filters!

Here is what I saved (threw out A LOT of plants)

I also moved the Crispus who's roots spread over a squared ft of the tank bottom.

I am fiddling around for now trying to figure out what I am going to do with this tank, it will be low light with mostly slow growers to fit my now crazy schedule!

Wozers!
