Planting my 20 long

Yeah, I would buy large, cheap ferns from home depot/lowes. Your boa may flatten them pretty quickly...

I agree. Don't expect any plants you put in there to last. You might be better off with silk plants from a craft store; just clean them thoroughly before adding to the tank.

Eventually (actually, probably pretty soon) you'll have to move your boa to bigger quarters; that's when you should start thinking about planting the 20 long! Planted tanks work great for small frogs, salamanders, lizards, and invertebrates.

I know I will have to move him soon but I think the ferns would make a nice addition to his home. If he flattens them then so be it. If I notice there's a problem with this I will just take them out and put them in the other 20 long with the leopard gecko. I always have a backup plan and tank:)

I think the ferns would look cool too and if you are okay with them getting flattened, go for it! Just in case you aren't already, I would suggest that you feed your boa outside of its tank. No need risking impaction... (some say it helps the boa not to associate the opening of the cage with food immediately becoming available as well..) Put up some pics if you plant it

Most definitely will put up pics. The gecko tank is a little dry and tundraish-is that a word-for ferns I guess. I am going shopping later this evening to see what I may find YAY!!!!!!! I have been keeping boas for wuite some time now and have always fed them in their tank. I just feel like it's weird to feed them outside of their ebclosure. I like eating in my house, y wouldn't they IMO.
