Some of my plants are getting clear and dying. Others are loosing leaves. It had seemed They were doing well and starting to grow (slowely) but now they seem to be fadding away? ANy thoughts? What causes them to fall apart and turn clear??? Thanks, Arkangel77

Maybe they were non-aquatic plants, any pictures or happen to know what you had?

These are all Aquatic plaints, Swords, Lotis, Java fern, Umm other stuff LOL.
My anubias seem to be un affected?

I have a 180 with discus, temp is at 86 and test kits show zero nitrates, amonia, and so forth.

I cant take a pic right now cause I am not home.

Sorry but any clue?

What is your lighting like?

Your tank is pretty deep, which may be an issue if you lighting is less than adequate in the first place.

Are you using ferts?

I agree that 0 nitrates is not good, especially since your plants seem to be dieing rather than growing.

I am pretty sure it is either nitrate or lighting. The surviving anubias leads me to believe it is the nitrate because anubias do not need many nutrients.

I have about 400 Watts of LED lights but it does not penetrate very well. I have bin considering changing out to CWF Lights. I also add some plant additives/fertilizer (Liquid), vitamins, & Iron. Not at home and I cant remember the names. I dont use tabs at all. AS for Nitrate? What do I do - stop changing water????? I guess I may have to choose plants or fish?:wall: - I wish I could balance both!
