Please help me before my Betta dies!!!

I also think it's dropsy.

Yes, it is "dropsy", but, and I am not sure you caught the IMPORTANT POINT; dropsy is not a disease, it is a symptom. A multitude of diseases ARE (well, kinda) "dropsy."

To cure the REAL disease (cause of the dropsy), you must treat the underlying cause(s), and correctly. And, that can be a very diverse range of disorders.

To put it simply, the way I once had it put to me, "You can attempt a fix to a problem. You can repeat the fix to the problem many times. The correct fix always works the first time."

Dropsy is not a disease it is a condition in which the internal organs fail. It is not a symptom it is a condition.

No, someone has given you disinformation, you are now spreading it to others.

Internal organs don't "just fail", unless the fish is very, very old (for the species in questions.)

Organs DO fail if the organism is under attack from parasites, bacteria, viruses, worms, suffering deficiencies in nutrients, poisoned by polluted/toxic water, etc. (just to name a few reasons)

You are attempting to place "the cart before the horse", look at that in a mirror, and you will have it correct (it is simply the reverse of your logic.)

Don't worry, recognizing and correcting ones own defective logic with critical thinking is a learned skill; with time, you will get it right ...

I am sorry I was not trying to spread disinformation. I guess I was wrong.

Dude, been there, done that! In spades!

I am just looking for the "old wives tale" I have had squirreled away in my brain, holding it as fact. Don't worry, someone here will point out something I am falsely believing. It just might be you ...

Thanks for your text/conversation!
