Please help with fish diseases...

there are several kinds of Mardel meds. i just read a chart. they said that what your fish has is true fungus infection, saprolegnia.
 
that's what the fish with white stringy patches. they are saying that rapid breathing rate and gaping gills, mouth kept open and cloudy eyes, may not show any external signs of infection on body means gill parasites. maracyn-two recomended for both problems. you also must kill parasites.
 
i don't know what you have in your tank or what you will have in the future. i know that maracyn-two will help your fish with secondary infections that they are having at this time. Mardel is saying that Mardel copper safe is o.k. to use with their antibiotics at the same time. but copper itself is bad for inverts if you have any. because many inverts are made of the same material as ick. Quinsulex is great for protozoan of any kind, but will kill invertebrates too, but easy to get it out of the reef system, unlike copper. i used Quinsulex for ick and it did great job too. But I don't know if you can mix it with Maracyn-two. These two meds are my favorite for two different things(Maracyn-two and Quinsulex) tell me more and i can help you make your choice for the moment. You meybe will have to go to the fish store to get it.
 
you will have to go with Mardel Coppersafe and Mardel Maracyn-Two at the same time or Quinsulex byitself. either way is fine. don't worry about fish not eating at the moment, because that will not be the cause of death. the fish can go up to a month without eating and still recover if properly treated. there is an oxygen depletion with the use of Quinsulex, so make sure you have proper airation during treatment. good luck! sorry for so many e-mails.

I'm sorry. Did you transport the fish to the quarantine tank? Or did you dose the aint-biotics in the maint tank?
 
i'm sorry. and don't worry about antibiotic in the main tank. if it's Maracyn-two it will not hurt anything at any giving time. i used it in my reef system about a year ago and everything is o.k. usualy stuff like that kills fish within a week, so there is not much time.
