PLECO LIVING ALONE IN A SMALL TANK?

If I got a small 2-3 gallon tank would it be ok to just put a 7 inch pleco in it?

7" pleco = 55 gallon tank by itself.

Adult size common pleco = 100+ gallon tank.

Plecos are huge waste producers, no way you can keep one in a tank that small.

At that size, maybe a 20gal? Bigger as it grows.

Rule of thumb I use with plecos is to have a tank at least 4 X longer than the fish. 6" Pleco = 2ft tank, 12" pleco = 4ft tank etc.

Definitely not

As ianab has stated, plecos are huge waste producers. For a 7" pleco, I would say a 40 breeder is the bare minimum. A 55g being preferable. Those guys need the surface area more than the height. They also need plenty of filtration to handle their bio load.

Only if it's sick and is being treated, and for about a week...otherwise as stated above!
