By no means am I an expert on the issue. Have you recent water tests from a good liquid test kit?

More info on tank?

I see two options, unless you exactly identify what it is and there is a treatment for it. One, as long as the fish eats and can swim, leave it alone. That also means that whatever it is, isn't contagious. Two, euthanize. Not an easy choice but most likely what I would do.

I have looked up everything I can on the internet I'm on 3 different post trying to find out anything there have been Similar issues but nobody has exactly stated what it is for sure so I'm clueless I can only try to do what I can or leave it alone he is seems ok he is having trouble getting in his log though it has gotten so big I figure I can leave it be but I don't know if he is pain or try and remove and hope for the best if I see him suffering euthanize so yes very hard decision I wish someone knew exactly what is so I make the right choice for him
